Hi guys, i seeking out for expert advices.
Im struggle to bring to ph up to 7.9-8.0.
I tried the buffer, running algae scrubber and recent added secondary calcium chamber.
My tank Ph has been 7.5-7.8 thru out the day.
I stop calcium feed until i can bring the ph up.
What should i do.
Current tank test
Calcium 417
Alk 8.2

What are you using to test ph to get you those numbers? If it’s a ph probe you might need to recalibrate it. If it’s a test kit throw it in the trash and get a probe. I have found test kits to be very unreliable when it comes to ph. What are you using for your calcium feed? If it’s a calcium reactor your always going to struggle with ph in the 7.9 range without either a using a degassing chamber ie a second chamber filled with media or b using a co2 scrubber like I am. My ph now runs 7.9-8.2 when before it was like 7.8-7.9

You might also consider dripping Kalkwasser to bring up the PH. You would need to reduce the CalcRX output by an equal amount so as not to spike your alkalinity.

Im using apex probe and test kit just to be sure. I guess i need to recal the probe again since i might did it wrong when i first start it.
I have geosreef 618 and install a second chamber few days ago, using reborn media.
How long will i able to see the change? The ph is at 7.5 to begin with?

Would it be better if i turn off the calcium reactor, bring the Ph up then redial the calcium? If so what is the best tradition method can i use to bring the ph up?

One thing to also consider (although your carx is a huge deal in this) is the CO2 saturation where you have your tank and filtration equipment (if separate). You could give a pH scrubber a shot which might bring you closer to 8... On the other hand I've never operated a carx before so i don't have a sense of how much the scrubber will actually help.

I have never had to be concerned about ph because I used to have an undergravel filter with crushed coral on top. But I want to be able to handle a wider veriety of corals so I am in the slow process of removing the under gravel and crushed coral. There is way too much poop and rotten food in the crushed coral thus I have great ph but poor water quality. I put a mesh bag of crushed coral in one of my hang over the edge power filters and hoping to do the trick for me. What are your thoughts?
