This store is located off the West 610 loop by the Hwy 69/610 intersection next to Home Depot.

Nick senior and Nick Jr have always been very helpful and polite. I’ve ordered 3 custom Planet Aquariums from this store and it’s always been a positive experience.

Nice selection of fish and coral with great prices. I enjoy going in here to shop, because I don’t feel forced to hurry or buy. Some days I’m looking for specific things and if it’s not in there then I can leave and come back another time when they do have it. I don’t feel like they pressure you to buy, because the store is always busy and is doing well.

They have a nice selection of Encrusting Monti’s and Acropora. They get a lot of fish in on a regular basis and carry several Designer Clownfish. There’s a good variety of Bubble Tip Anemones and they do carry a lot of LPS and soft coral too.

Good people with great selection and prices. My kind of store!

Going to echo what @reefahholic said.

Since moving to Houston this is my go to fish store. It's worth the extra drive for me to go there. I've bought a coral and a few fish from them and everything has done great.

One thing to note a lot of the fish only aquariums have a small amount of copper being run through them. So when you get your fish make sure to acclimate them and then "rinse" them off before letting them into your aquarium and discard the water they came with.

That’s right. One other thing to keep in mind, is that even the best in the business can’t control every parasite. For this reason I highly encourage anybody to QT all incoming fish. Some may get lucky for a while, but eventually you’ll run into something that could be absolutely devastating and wipe out your entire fish population. This is not the LFS’s fault. They do their best.

It’s even hard for most hobbiest to keep every parasite out of their personal aquarium. Just imagine getting big fish loads weekly with multiple species that require different treatments and medications.

Example:
Blue Regal tangs (hippo tangs) will die from CP treatment. Around the 3rd or 4th day they start to decline. Kills them.
Wrasse’s and Anthias don’t do well with CP either. Kills them.
Mandarins & Pipefish don’t tolerate Copper we’ll. Kills them.
Some fish don’t tolerate ionic Copper that well.

So knowing this, we can’t expect these LFS’s to treat these fish with all these specific medications. They’re just not set up for it and they don’t have the time. Plus most don’t really know how to do it. We can’t blame the LFS when fish die. This is why I never mention the LFS in my YouTube videos. I may film the parasite, but I never name the store or give the location.

IMO, we should blame ourselves for not being educated enough to know that we need to Quarantine and How to Quarantine. :)

Ocean Life Aquariums has been on my "to visit" list but I wasn't sure they sold livestock. So thanks for the review! [h=2][/h]

This place is my jam. The location is convenient for me, the livestock always looks healthy and the prices are fair. And they have a cheap frag section that is really dangerous when you have some extra money burning a hole in your pocket!

Always excellent service - employees will offer to help but aren't pushy about it. Even though the store is small, they weirdly always have whatever dry goods I happen to be shopping for.
