Hi

I want to know how many people have problems with this coral. I have it around 50% of my rocks with this invasive coral.
I've been following a post in R2R about how to eliminate it, so I pulled the trigger. I will post how is doing my tank.

While blue clove polyps are monolithic and kind of less interesting than the base rock, they don’t actually harm other corals (contrary to popular belief). I had a tank that was eventually full of them, but delicate SPS corals would lay down skeleton and new tissue over the cloves...I even spoke with a coral farmer who said he intentionally seeds his grow out tanks with BCP in order to polish the water and keep algae from taking hold. They can be kind of annoying to look at, but they are not dangerous. I will try to keep them out of my next tank, but I’m not sure I’d risk using chemical weapons against them myself. Does the Bendazole kill beneficial microfauna?

Thanks for respond.

I saw this post months ago as well and have been meaning to try it out. My blue Cali tort colony has some at the base and I don't want to transfer it to my new tank. I had a few rocks in my alt system that had some on it but I pulled them out last night.

What's even more interesting is that I have a little bubble algae and one bubble the size of a quarter broke loose. It was half covered by blue polyps! That was nuts.

If you don't like or if you don't want in your new tank, clean the piece that has blue polyp or just cut it. If not, it will cover slowly your new tank

Today I put back the carbon, uv and skimmer back to work and I did my first 40g change water
So far so good.

Night and day. Glad it's working out. I'm gonna have to try that. Do you have extra of the medicine?

Hey Jonathan, I have a few questions...

- What formula did you use to determine how much to dose? You said you used less than the recommended dose right?

- Did you leave your skimmer and UV off for the first 96hrs? Removed the carbon?

- When did you do water changes, if at all during this process?

- Did you experience a spike afterwards in Nitrates or Ph?

- Did it affect your CUC at all? Any noticeable affect on any SPS, LPS, leathers, mushrooms, zoas, etc...

Any other advice now that it has been a few months? Did any of it come back?

Thanks!

Hi my respond below

What formula did you use to determine how much to dose? You said you used less than the recommended dose right? I used fenbendazole from Thomas Labs, I used 1mg per gallon

- Did you leave your skimmer and UV off for the first 96hrs? Removed the carbon? Turn off the uv and remove your carbon. I left my skimmer running without cup for help PH

- When did you do water changes, if at all during this process? After 96 hrs I did 3 water change of 40 gallons, each WC every other day

- Did you experience a spike afterwards in Nitrates or Ph? No spike with nitrates and for PH I left my skimmer ran without cup.

- Did it affect your CUC at all? Any noticeable affect on any SPS, LPS, leathers, mushrooms, zoas, etc...
No problems with my sps, zoas, torch, Duncan, goniopora and mushrooms. I don't have CUC in my tank, but all my snails were ok.

Any other advice now that it has been a few months? Did any of it come back?
My tank is free of blue Polyp, after that I just have a problem with cyano, but I did a 3 days blackout and problem solved.
