I want to make a 29 gal tank for anemone and clowns, maybe a couple of other fish. Do I need a skimmer and/or live sand?
HOB just stands for "hang on back." I can't recall the brand of filter but its just a cheapo from Petco with a sponge filter. Probably paid $20 bucks for it. Something like Fluval or Aquaclear. Just something big enough to keep the water moving so that i don't have to add a power head. Remember, all intakes have to be covered in a nem tank. For mine, I just cut out a foam sleeve for this one and slid it over the intake.60-70?!?!? Nice! Is hob a brand? Sorry. I’ve been back at this for only a couple of months and after a 10 year break. If it’s not a brand, what brand are you using?
I've seen this tank first hand... it's very impressive and very cool!I have a 29g anemone tank with about 60-70 nems in it. I don't run anything other than a hob filter and hob skimmer. The tank runs so clean that the skimmer never takes anything out of the water but I do think it does a good job of oxygenating the water for the nems and fish.
This is only about 1/3 of the tank. There are so many nems that they are stuck to the glass because there isn't any rock space available.
