Once upon a time I was told that BCP's were great because they don't over take corals. That once they come in contact with another coral they will grow around it. Great I thought until I found out it was all lies! I have a good size patch of it invading one of my zoa gardens.

I seem to recall this discussion coming up before but can't remember where I saw it. How can I rid my tank of these carpet polyps without disturbing (killing) anything else?

Just bought some safe guard from petco. Was wondering if anyone if anyone has used this to get rid of blue clove polyps before I start dumping it in my tank. Thanks

Well, they seem to have stopped once they made contact with the spongeode and a chalice I have in another location, but they are blanketing my zoas and have already smothered a small colony of acans I had.

There's a medicine that you can dose and it works well. I know multiple people that have used it successfully but I'll have to look up the name of the stuff. Wingnut used it recently and has some extra left over.

I was really hoping someone would tell me that hydrogen peroxide or lemon juice would work[emoji1787]

I can try my laser on it....
I appreciate that.

Edit- on second thought, don't do that....not without research first. I've been reading a few threads on r2r and these little buggars are not very nice when they die. I worry trying to use your lazer may have an adverse reaction in your tank. If you still want to try it, do it in a seperate qt tank where your dt wont be affected just to be safe.

So I have been all over the world wide web looking to see if there was any success out there with natural predators and these are what folks have had success with, although not consistently...

Vagabond Butterfly
Coral Beauty
Gold Ring Cowrie
Halloween Hermit Crab
Fox Face

There has also been some success with hydrogen peroxide, kalk paste, and aptasia x. Some claim it never came back while others claim it came back with a vengance, but all agreed it was an uphill battle.

I will say I already have a Halloween Crab and he doesn't touch it.

Has anyone tried any of these methods with any measure of success? I'm in no hurry to try the medication...i have too many softies in my tank.

I used in my tank and it worked. Look in my post if you have any doubts send me a PM

Did it have any affect on your corals? I've seen where it can take upto a year to cycle out of your tank and will continue to kill mushrooms, leathers, and other softies.

Thats good. I will jump over to that thread and read up on it real quick. Did you do the recommended dose or did you dilute it?

I used hy peroxide once and it was a disaster. on a second note I put a rock covered with it in a tank for temporary. Couple days later noticed all the blue cloves gone.
planning to put some more in there to see what happened to them. of that list there is a foxface in there.

Oh man those things are the devil. I ended having to nuke all my rocks to get rid of them. I know that’s not an option for you with the coral on them tho....
