I used 4 that rapidly turned into more (but then got weeded back down by my wrasse) in my 30 gal. They worked like magic, but definitely be watchful if you have wrasses, and get enough of them. They move quickly, but don't always have the best of luck finding the aiptasia so wander aimlessly for awhile. Relocating them can be tricky as they are a bit fragile, and grip the rocks very well.

When I dropped them in my tank, no kidding one adult (3/4 inch or so) went straight into the mouth of a decent sized aiptasia, and within 30 minutes the aiptasia was gone.

Yep wrasses will definitely eat them, peppermint shrimp will as well.

Anyone willing to part with one of their nudi’s on this order? I missed the deadline to get one, and I only need one since I have a 13.5 gallon tank.

How many aiptasia do you have? Curious why you don't just use aiptasia X or F-Aiptasia and be done with it.

Don’t know if you know about using aptasia X (or other chemical methods) or have used it, but if you hit one then later two more pop up. It works fine for killing them but if any spores or planula (sp?) get out, which I’ve heard many many people say they have had the same problem, then they pop up again. Or there could be just really tiny ones starting to grow again and you still haven’t seen them, then a few days later they are the size of a pea. Getting frustrated chasing after these damn things. I finally get to the point where I think I got them all gone and under control then another one pops up and then another one and then three or four more show up. I just got rid of three of them this morning using aptasia X.

The one thing these chemical manufacturers for getting rid of the aptasia don’t tell you about is that there could be really tiny ones you can’t see or even big ones that are hidden in the rocks that are spewing out planula all over the place. Sure if you can find all of them and hit them exactly at the spot to close their mouth so they don’t send out the planula, I’m sure you can get rid of him that way. But if you have a reef aquarium of rocks and corals they could be a real nightmare trying to find each one. Maybe even one hidden in the sump or returns that you don’t see. One of the aptasia I got rid of this morning was in between my Zoas. I could just see the little Tentacles sticking out between the Zoas. Hope that answers your questions on why I don’t just use the chemicals to get rid of the few.

Berghia nudis are pack hunters 1 nudis will have a tough time killing just one aptasia it could actually be eaten best if it you put at least 2. Even in such a small tank.

Well that’s good to know I’m not to informed on how these nudi’s work so if anybody would be willing to part with two I’d do that. Thanks for the feedback. I’m just tired of trying the chemical method. I’ve been doing that for the last three or four months and I thought I got rid of them, but then they keep popping up again.

Yeah I know about it. Unfortunately I have years of experience dealing with aiptasia.
Aiptasia X seems to cause a breakout after use when there are a lot present around the treatment area. (In that case I'd recommend F-Aiptasia as the breakouts dont seem to happen)
AiptasiaX works for me when im using it in a tank that has only a couple aiptasia. The breakouts dont seem to occur in that specific scenario, don't ask me why.

Yeah it’s great for the ones you DO SEE and does a great job of killing them, but a real nightmare for the ones you don’t. I don’t believe the ones that have reoccurred are from the aiptasia that I have hit, because I cover them completely and are gone afterwards. It’s the ones that I haven’t seen in other areas of the tank that are popping up from maybe one or two that I have never found yet and is sending out the planula. When I came across this thread I thought well that would be a better alternative to let these little guys get into the little nooks and crannies that I can’t see. I wasn’t sure how many to get and I didn’t want them to starve to death because I know aiptasia is the only thing they eat. And I wasn’t sure if they would nuke the tank when they die since they are nudi’s or at the very least to create a small ammonia spike but I’m sure that won’t be much. At most I’ve only had about six or seven at a time, and most times that I’ve had to treat them there have been only three or four. But it’s been consistent for almost 4 months now and I still haven’t gotten rid of them. I know how they spread, and I want to make sure I get them under control and not have an outbreak.
