I got a bunch of new corals today and dipped in insecticide. I’m guessing I didn’t rinse them well enough. Anything I can do??

Large water change fast. And another one the next day or two and run carbon if you can. Even some carbon bags just passively sitting where water can flow over them will help. If you have a quarantine tank take out as many inverts and fish as possible and put in QT.

Uhhh, I’m so mad I did this....

Did the largest water change I could with available water, about a 1/3rd of the tank. Added extra carbon. I took out all the inverts once I realized what was going on and into some extra water, but don’t have a quarantine tank, so I moved them back into main tank after water change. Crossing my fingers they make it but would be kinda shocked if they survived. All the fish seem to be fine.

Emerald crab, Pom Pom crab, pistol shrimp and a hermit still alive.

Coral banded shrimp and one hermit have already died. :(

So sorry! I can only imagine your frustration. Hope your remaining critters pull through.

Anytime I dip corals in anything, they go to a bowl with just tank water for 30 minutes to get all of the dip off. Someone else lost some fish a while back doing the same thing.

Yup. I killed a few snails early on by not rinsing well enough early on. I actually do 2 rinses now.

MollieM sorry for the losses.

Update. Everyone of the first survivors may have survived the night. I haven’t been able to actually see the pistol shrimp but I think he is in his burrow. Fingers crossed.

And the coral banded shrimp came back to life after sitting in a bucket of cold water all night. But he seems to be just barley hanging on. Glad I didn’t flush him yesterday.
