Alright, just got back into the hobby after being out for a few years.

As always, I went looking for deals and found a 92g oceanic corner tank being used as a fresh water setup.

Had to find and reinstall the overflow again as the previous owner removed it and plugged the holes but found one, trimmed it and it's looking good.

Finally got my rock set up. Was curious what you guys think?

I had a 92gl corner bowfront. My only regret was not painting the back (outside) glass black.

Good luck with your build! Rockscape looks great :)

Oh yeah good idea. I was just focused on the rock. I like black too..
Was a p.i.a taping black poster board up to hide all the cables LOL! One positive though is when I wanted a change I would tape up dark blue [emoji1787][emoji1787][emoji1787]

Thanks for the input.... I will be using foam board cut to fit the back. It will slide right in and allow me to play with background colors. Have not decided on blue or black. Lol.

I was going for the rule of thirds, keeping the rock work in the lower third, corals will grow into the middle third.

What is your plan for water circulation?

I am looking at dual alternating Gyres on the back over flow.
That would be a good idea. Id suggest you consider putting one near the bottom in a verticle position. That area in the back I found to be a horrible dead spot and alot of crud would build up there. The extra flow from the gyre circulating behind your rockscape there would save you some headache down the road.

Did you have issues with keeping your sand in one place with the power heads that low? I expect that I will have to manually clean the sand during water changes. A CUC should help too. I'm sure I will ha e to play around d with the placement. I have heard that corner tanks are the most difficult to master flow patterns in.

You may be taller than I am, but cleaning the sand back in that far corner behind the rockscape while trying to manuever around a light was definately a challenge for me. Im sure you will come up with something that is ideal and far better than anything that crossed my mind :)

The corner tanks are one of my favorites, I look forward to following along in your build thread .

I'm 6'3" and can reach most places in the tank easily with the hood off. I have several lighting options but may go with a t5 led hybrid option with an adjustable hanging kit that can be pulled up during cleaning and dropped back down afterwards.

I will probably have to go with a slightly heavier substrate myself. Which is a bummer because I would really like a sand sifting goby.
