Once again CCC says this is the second best price ever. I'm grabbing 3 more. About $9 more for 3 than last time. I still have one box from then.

And good on you for finding this! I periodically check since they did this last time, which looks like may of last year. Always nice to save a decent amount of money on salt.

So I purchased 3 boxes a while back. I did not open them until recently (past return date for amazon) and all 3 where bricks. This is the 2nd or maybe 3rd time this has happened. I know its not humidity - or maybe not - since the last two boxes of IO I just finished were fine and had been in the garage nearly 12 months.

So please check your boxes when you purchase.

I use em anyway. Get a tenderizing hammer from the kitchen and break it up while it's still in the bag.

I already chunked it. I tried using some IO that was like that many years ago. It made the water cloudy and took a bunch of water changes to get rid of it.

Same for me. I just tenderized them and put them in a bucket. I may open one of these once I get it and leave one bag in the garage to see if after time it becomes hard as a rock.

Are the ones in the box not sealed airtight like the ones in the bucket?

They seem like they are air tight, but it could be "breathable" bags. I've never had issues with the buckets I will say.

That seems to be a frequent problem with the 200g boxes for me but I never had that problem with the 160g buckets. It must have something to do with their packages because the salt arrives good and hardens over time.

Poor folks like me have to shop at the "low-end" stores. They keep an eye on Amazon's price and will either match or beat Amazon's price on the IO Reef Crystal. Sorry for the late notice since it is now out of stock. I purchased their last remaining boxes. 🤑

Walmart is trash. I work with them often. Stop supporting that dog and pony show.

Haha....You're going to call me out when you know exactly how I feel about them buddy. I only buy 10% of products they sell. That salt is made here in the USA!!!!

If I buy these and put them in my 200 gallon bucket, that should solve the problem of them turning into a brick right?

I'll try doing that with one of the box from this recent purchase. Like Tenny, I'll put it in the garage and see if it hardens up over time.
