Update: 1 year 3 months. Been a bumpy ride. Had a Triton Core7 crash early on. Not the best way to start a tank. It went like this. Started the tank with BRS 2-part and then switched to Triton. Tank crashed and I switched to ESV. After realizing what happened I went back to Triton. Didn’t get the results I was looking for so I switched to ESV after running out of Core7 and finally switched to a Calcium Reactor. It’s amazing I got any growth at all with all these changes! One thing is certain. I don’t feel like a calcium reactor is the end all. The stability is there, but leaving your home to fill CO2 bottles gets annoying. To be quite honest...my ALK numbers were tighter (less swing) when using my GHL dosing pump and 2-part, but the stability of a Reactor is much better IMO. It’s not that 2-part won’t yield results, it’s just gonna take most people longer to get the same results. At the end of the day, both ways of supplementation require tinkering. If I had to pick it would be both. I like have the GHL dosing pump to supplement or as a backup to the reactor, but the reactor is just more stable and this was evident within the first few weeks of observing the corals. 5382D79C-AFC1-46D5-BDF4-9D6308B205A4.jpeg

So I’m going your route finally. I’m getting rid of colonies and putting in frags.

How big is your CO2 bottle? I used to run a 20/lb tank it lasted almost 9 months.

Two tanks is the best way to go-its nice to have a backup tank.

Calcium reactor is the way to go IMO.

Tank made it 1 year 4 mo 15 days.

Tank is being drain this weekend. Just sold the last fish to RR-MAN and corals went to everybody over the last couple weeks. I’m smoked. I think 15 people came yesterday. It was brutal but it’s done.

Till the next one!

You’re real good about setting up and taking down...what happened?

I think he just enjoys building systems more than managing them. I’ll give it six months and he will be planning a new one! Haha

I would just assume that is pricey especially since there is no way you can get back what you put in it..

In a nutshell. COVID-19 is taking a lot of my time, but I already planned to shut it down prior to the virus outbreak to devote more of my time to Jesus Christ and my family.

Yep....I follow Jesus and it's time I give Him my full attention and quit playing games. There's 25,000 manuscripts that testify of our Creator and this mere 80 years we live on planet earth is not enough for me to gamble with my eternity.

I think anything that's done too excessively can really be labeled as idolatry. For me personally...anything that comes before reading my Bible, praying, and spending time with the Lord is a distraction. The R2R Reef Squad was taking away my time. YouTube was taking away my time. Trying to keep Acro's constantly happy was taking away my time. Mixing salt, testing, topping off, filling the Kalk reservoir, changing filters, water changes, dosing, and the list goes on and on.

Paul said in Hebrews 12:1 "let us lay aside every weight."

In 1 John 2 it says this:
"And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked."

I was guilty of being a lukewarm Christian (or maybe not a all) and I had to get real with myself. Plain and simple.

It's not about works (Eph 2:8-9), but if you lack Obedience....can you really say you love God.?

HaHa...I doubt it. I may get he itch later, but it honestly feels excellent not having to worry about another task.

My house was DEAD Silent last night. It was nice. No water trickle, no Calcium Reactor cavitation, no Carbon Doser click click click. NO STRESS of having to test.

I just spent $750 on my wife for a Karaoke setup.
