so @frankc i gotta ask, your dogs are Afghans correct? That sure is a unique (and pretty) breed.

Not quite. They are Borzoi, prior to 1939 they were known as Russian wolfhounds. They are in the sighthound family along with Afghans, greyhounds, Saluki, and a few others. A well-conditioned one is capable of running about 35mph, but they are couch potatoes most of the time.

They kinda do. Sometimes they see deer on the other side of the fence, and it's pretty fun to watch them stare at each other.

Here's another shot that better shows the shape of our youngest one. The older two have gotten rather overweight, but the youngest still looks like she's supposed to.

Here's a couple action shots of our first two Borzoi at a dog park. The red and white one is the one in my avatar photo. The other dog never stood a chance, but despite looking like it was about to meet its demise, they were all just having fun.

Here is a more typical pose. Notice how they can twist their bodies to lie on the floor on both sides at the same time.

Who says we don't have fall color in Texas (even if it is in December)? This is a tallow tree, and when I lived in The Woodlands they were having a big campaign to get rid of these because they are considered invasive, but they sure are pretty.

My new puppy Marlee. I have had her for 5 weeks. She is 3 months old. I got her the day after my 17 year old Allie passed.

Cockapoo. Ya she is a cutie. My 17 year old was just as cute if not cuter. Marlee is just blonde. Allie was 2 tone. But every living thing has a DNA time line. Her vet always told me it is 14 years. The kidneys go first and that is what happened. 36 hours later she was in doggie heaven. Her song was angel by Madonna. Walking down the street. When she passed it was I hope I due before I get old. Allie did not suffer she just slowly slipped away. The day she got sick she got 4 compliments on her beauty. We went on our usual 2 km walk mostly along the waterfront. A lady who owns a busy store looked at me... Said I was in charge. Asked what her name is ..left the store to say hello to doggie she was that cute. Allie was an Alpha 25 pound guard dog... Onward and forward

Cockapoos have the smarts of a poodle. My mom always laughed at the way I would talk to Allie. She tried and usually caught onto what I am telling her. The affectionate of a cocker spaniel. They do not shed and are hypoalergenic.
