Shout out to Fish Gallery in the woodlands!

I live close to them and needed a replacement sicce pump for my calcium reactor. I went and checked their livestock and they had two longfin clownfish for $65 each!!! I decided that I’ve spent too much money lately and just left with my pump. I got home and realized I got a text from their rewards program that said I qualified for a 25% off discount, got back in the car, and got a pair of longfin clownfish for $100!!!!! I’m super pumped!

Dude, I’m sitting there thinking the planets aligned. Everything fell into place too easily. Even my wife was like “yeah, just go back and get them”.

These aren’t my favorite coloration of them, but I definitely find them beautiful. The smaller one, and soon to be male, is prettier than the female. I told my wife that the male is prettier, just like us and she told me to shut up haha

I got a pair of long fin clowns last Wednesday. They won’t eat. Ive offered every type of prepared foods I could find. You name it, I’ve offered it. I’m seen the male nibble but I have yet to see the female eat. I have some garlic coming in today that I’m going to try but I’m getting worried about them. Any other advice would be greatly appreciated.

Lots of breeders have them on garlic enriched pellet foods... maybe try some of those and see.

I also caved yesterday... brought home a pair of black storm babies to hopefully raise and breed 😞 stupid paper hands. Beautiful lil guys though! Like little puppies and inseparable. The biggest one looks like a phantom storm, so I guess we’ll see how it matures. I know color/patterns can change on these over time. I’ve also now successfully paired my female black photon and male black ice... can’t wait to see how the results of this pairing turn out!

Does this mean that you breed your clowns? Not trying to hijack Cody's thread but do you have any posts about your breeding your clownfish? Very curious.
No posts... but I probably should. This will be my first attempt at breeding the clowns. Not really worried about the venture, as I’ve bred way more difficult specimens successfully.

try soaking your food in selcon. It is a first line tool for finicky eaters.

Please elaborate - what have you bred?
I bred a pair of blue spot rays (only once). I also use to regularly breed/sell seahorses (mustangs and dwarves). From everything I’ve read on breeding clowns and raising the fry, it’s fairly similar to raising the dwarves... and those guys were tiny pains in the butt 😂
