For power generation just get a few hamsters.
I tried getting my cat to spin on the wheel but it just stared at me while laying down.

Woodstove as a power outage backup....Ya. This is as bad as it gets up here. Last night we had what I think was a front come through. It got windy and power was out for a very rare 4 hours. Tank was at 78.3. It went down to 77.7. I had the wood stove on just to smolder. Cus it was windy the air flow through the stove was not the best. The house temp was 70. I put a heater on for the night.

I rely on heat/smoke rising out of the stove box and out of the house. Last night with the wind and gusts it disrupted the heat/smoke flow. Beach weather is over up here.
