Wow, I never thought to run a magnet through my sand. It looks like I should have. Oh well, after more than 3 years for the 294g and 10 years for the 150g, hopefully any harm that is going to be done has already been done.
If it’s not showing pollutants on the ICP…I wouldn’t worry about it.

A viewer gave me an excellent tip. He said put the magnet in a plastic bag and run it through the sand and then it will separate the junk from the magnet and keep it clean and it’s easy to collect the junk and get it off the magnet. This can be done underwater too. ;-)

^^^Looks good! What material?
3D Printer. If anybody’s interested after you see it on my tank I can give you the custom specs and hook you up with the guy that is bringing my little design to life. I designed it to look like a metal halide reflector. I should call them Cozemel Sun shade’s. These are white and the first of it’s kind. 🙂

Why don’t you do something like this for the canopy but give yourself some room for tank maintenance- I had the same design on my Elos tank- I used wider boards though about 8” thick.

You can’t call it Cozumel until you put on it an iguana wearing shades while holding a shot of tequila.

Or something like this:

That is pretty slick. Love the white. That is my color.

ah…that’s a good question. I thought about it. I really like that I can slip these shades on and off like shoes. They are very light and easy to handle. My first design came out too big. That was the point but I changed my mind. I change it form 45 degrees to 60 and reduced the length also. This below is the old. Standby for the new design.
