Keeping a disease free tank is pretty difficult as there are many secondary sources often over looked. It involves way more than just dipping new incoming fish. So, even tough you follow strict qt routines, the CUC is often overlooked for instance. On that subject,

Is anyone growing corals with no fish? I was reading somewhere that fish diseases like ich etc. can also transmitted / transferred via corals. The only real way to way to avoid that would be with a fishless system where fish disease would be unable to exist due to a lack of hosts.

I have no fish in my frag tank since dec. I have lost a few corals, but I attribute that to me not taking care of them correctly or equipment issues.

I feed fish pellets every now and then to add a bit of nutrients.
