    James’ Fluval EVO 13.5 gallon

Update on this tank. We upgraded it to a Waterbox AIO 25 and added a 12” blade grow with a custom hanging light fixture. I also added a Bubble Magus MiniQ skimmer to the system. There’s some corals in the tank now and I added some rock and an arch to tie the aqua scape together.

    Lids

I have a Clearview Tsunami on my 300XL and a Kraken Reef on my Evo 13.5. The annoying thing about the Tsunami is the modular design. At the time I bought it I thought “hmm if I want to reconfigure I don’t have to buy another lid.” The idea is nice, but in reality the places where the lid pieces...

With the mesh lid the ATO reservoir was not lasting nearly long enough so I upgraded it to a 5L tank. I will keep the 1.5L for when I need to dose ask for Reef. Lol! Also the water change on this tank is great. So much less worth than my big tank!

    Why?

This is what I use and as a backup I have a normal refractometer. I mix Randy Holmes Farley's refractometer juice to calibrate. I have the salinity pen and while it is convenient it is almost never right unless you calibrate it right before. You also see people saying that the Hanna Salinity...

Can you do it? Yes you can! Will it be easy? Sometimes. Will there be times you want to drain the tank and throw it out the back door? Absolutely. It’s a test of one’s tenacity. lol!

    liquid calcium

one good point to remember is the concentrations vary from product to product. So to get an apples to apples comparison is difficult. Products you mix yourself are pretty weak in concentration in comparison to pre-mixed products.

It is the perfect light for it I think. The tank overhead looks great and is nearly silent. That is a tiny ATO reservoir, lol! Hopefully it lasts a week. If it doesn’t I’m eyeing a 5L reservoir that should fit in my cabinet

    James’ Fluval EVO 13.5 gallon

Last night I hung up the 12" blade in preparation for the Kraken Reef Lid to come. I am really loving this little tank and equipment wise this is it. My chromis is so lively and the firefish is getting more settled as well. Maybe this weekend I will check the par and see how much par this little...

It looks amzing! I don't think I would change anything. I am dealing with aiptasia right now and am treating it with F-Aiptasia. I can't go with nudis, because they would become an expensive snack for my wrasses I think. Lol!

    Tears Of The Kingdom

Breathe off the wild was the best Zelda game I’ve ever played so to say it’s better is very exciting. I spent and untold amount of hours playing it. I can’t wait to sit down and play this one

Red Sea Reefer 300 XL Build

Thanks! I’d love to have a giant tank, but this is what fits in my space for now. I have a nano as well and those are a different kind of fun.

Red Sea Reefer 300 XL Build

I wanted to improve surface agitation on my tank so I picked up some 1/2” loc-line pieces, some flare nozzles and printed a y-adapter and an adapter for the Red Sea valve. It turned out pretty good I think.
