I.had a couple colonies that were dying on me. I was direct feeding them and it brought them back. Reefroids worked for mine. I let them go and they died on me. I think my lighting also played a factor. I run radions and they are too powerful I think.
Really not that big of a deal when it comes to the safety aspect. If you don't mind treating your swimming pool why not... I have started saving all of my old resin to give this a try. Mind you i would be using better safety gear than this guy. Always protect the eyes. Caustic can cause...
I like this quote from the original article you posted.
Clearly, this demonstrates the variability with the current generations of ICP and the challenges with using the results to agonize over making changes based on these results. According to four of the five tests, the Iodine values are...
That's not the response exactly. I think if you are not doing water changer and you want to control your reef chemistry, ICP testing is important. Is every parameter present a factor and indicative of the growth and health of the coral? No, just because you can test for something doesn't mean...
This very true. I have lost entire colonies of sps. I wish I had never put Moni's in my tank. They provide a beautiful backdrop but they will overcome just about any sps. I'm about to move a grape juice colony because of my fruity pebbles monti. As you can see in my photos it has taken over the...
Lol your comments nothing less than inflammatory. If you can’t take the heat… I’ll do me you do you. I know this much, I’ve had my successes and failures with reefing and no icp test could stop any of those failures other than the fact that icp analysis screwed me with their BS analysis. My...
You about as delusional as they come. Mind your own business. Yes I use moonshiners to a degree but I use what makes sense not what puts extra money in Andre’s pockets. At this point and with your stupid commentary I will assume it somehow goes in your pockets as well. I still don’t see those...
How much is oceamo? What is the turn around on testing? I’m also curious about reef labs turnaround. $40 for reef labs so same as ATI. I didn’t like the turnaround ATI took them almost three week to turnaround an ICP. Longest I have ever waited on triton is two weeks. Best case I have gotten...
That’s great tank profile I’m actually planning on taking down my tank for something similar. My new tank is 16T 48L and 20 D. The glass is in the garage I’m just a lazy Reefer. You got it set up right with lots of room for growth. I was impatient I wish I had never put monti’s in my tank. It’s...
Whatever method you use good luck with it. There are some great elements to the moonshiner program. I believe a lot of it is great and I adhere to much of it. I’ve been doing it for a couple years now and it has done wonders for my tank.
Didn’t realize til now you posted your results. If the numbers are accurate that’s a great test kit. It even has BS parameters you don’t need like rubidium. Another additive that isn’t needed in the reef…
