Here a quick Video of todays Lagoon Tank after the Ostreopsis Dinoflagellate outbreak, which I had to drastically correct the tank after even losing Corals and other Livestock from it's toxins. That was the point I went back to old school methods to resolve that situation. 2 days later the tank...
You may look into some help to ID the Dino you're dealing with to find the correct path to deal with your species. A lot Dino types are becoming an issue when Nutrients are getting low.
In general I would do not dose ANY amino acids as well no Iron during the combat against Dinos of any kind. As...
Can you share a PH curve?
Or alternatively the lowest PH in the morning to determine if you suffer from excessive carbonic acids which are strongly linked to RTN/STN events as one of the big culprits.
Credit goes to my wife!
She mentioned to try that since it’s known for its very gentle but at the same time very antiseptic characteristics. It allows cells to heal rather than destroying like peroxide or iodine.
So when I had a hopeless frag laying in the bin, I took it out again and dipped...
Cody,
I did talk to Michael Sweet and replicated his treatment with antibiotics.
I did setup 2 hospital tanks with 100mg/L antibiotics of metro, ampicillin and amoxicillin and the infected corals did not make it longer than a few hours unfortunately.
That was during a strong peak of TN.

Which ones do you like more?
I have even some more frags that I will bring online maybe tonight in my Sponsor section if I...

let's talk about a New School Era type of Water change system I have tested now since a short while ;-))))))))
I used some parts of the old system since it's still installed ;-)
The Video below is my traditional semi-automated Water change system explained and shown, that I have used...
Guys,
it's time for my AC ducting inside the house to be cleaned again.
The wife complains about more and more issues from allergies and I inspected the duct and vent outlets and some as expected have a bit of mold spots.
Also plenty of dust in some end areas.
Don't want to argue about the...
Folks,
since it seems to be the season again, and I get more and more requests what I do against ICH, I wanted to share a few things to treat it.
I may need to consider this info in one of my next "Andre's Reef Guide" series :Bolt:
A few people who came over for Coral frag pick ups and have...
Hey Guys,
Show off your large clams and share the story behind it.
Most Clams have due to it's Lifespan a very interesting story behind it.
I have recently posted on Facebook an updated picture of my Tridacna Derasa clam vs. a Video from the past.
This clam is growing amazingly fast ;-)
