Turns out I just needed to do two things: clean out the valve. Keep tightening, I needed to see the valve apart to see that by continuing the same direction slows the flow.

I have opened it all the way, it has to be dirty the tank sat for weeks (The Big Freeze), then I bought it. Probably the one thing that I didn’t clean.

Thanks, I have tried adjusting the valve, not much difference. I did see a video of the Herbie drain valve cleaning, I will try that tonight.

Are any on the bonding / super glues from the box stores safe, I need something tomorrow so ordering is not an option.

Here is the pump I am using, I know it’s overkill but I wanted an Apex compatible with its own power supply. I will keep adjusting the rate. I was not sure if it was a flow issue or a Red Sea drain adjuster knob issue.

Yes, it looks like that now, I had initially had the 2 lines on the right swapped.
Also learned that it is much easier to tighten and loose the pipes inside the overflow from under the tank, instead of from the top.

The noise is coming from the drain, cycles between quite and noisy. The return pump has enough water so it looks to be fine.

Forgot to mention, the LED lights so far are the biggest change, it’s not even the comparable to the T5’s that I used to run. The options are overwhelming. The tank came with AI 26’s.
