Thought I would post a quick review. Yes I got hooked off a Facebook promotion.

So what is this gadget?

Well basically it allows any A/C or Heat Pump that uses a remote to behave more like a traditional home cooling system.

Ie schedules, react to a temp set point and turn on etc. All from the convenience of your smart phone and the inter webs.

I’m using it with my mini split heat pump in our sun room. I have another I plan on using with the portable in the fish room.

So far I’m really happy with it. I’m just using the temperature set points right now but plan on playing with scheduling this week.

I would hope it’s cheaper than an actual WiFi enabled thermostat? I have the ecobee I installed pretty easily and it’s pretty nice.

The Sensibo is not a traditional thermostat like ecobee or nest. To my knowledge neither of those will work unless your heating/cooling device supports a traditional thermostat. For example my mini split has no thermostat interface. Only a hand held remote.

This device replaces the remote of non traditionally controlled heating/cooling units and enables WiFi support. Much like a universal remote.

It was cheaper than my nest thermostats.
