    Any Machinists On Here?

Thanks for the info. I'll give them a call and see what they say.

    Any Machinists On Here?

It's for a hardy hole on a what will become a striking anvil, so hard to say if a CNC would be able to create the square corners needed for the tools to fit properly. What sort of taper are we talking about? If it's more than say 1/16" then possibly a second cut after flipping the plate over...

    Any Machinists On Here?

I have need for either a machinist or someone with access to a water jet or plasma cutter. I need a single 1" square hole cut into a 2" thick plate of A36 steel. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    60% chance of tropical development

Looks like the storm is way too disorganized at this point for the models to have any solid clue of where it may be headed. Some have it tracking east to New Orleans, many have it floundering about and working back into Central America, and a couple others have it making a near straight north...

    I Hate Vermetid Snails

Heavy duty nitrile gloves. Get the fingers of the glove wet and dab a little ball of glue on one finger. As soon as the superglue hits the water it will skin over and you can then easily apply it to the area you want. I use this method for gluing a new frag down as I can easily mash the glue to...

    I Hate Vermetid Snails

I used to ignore these at first since they never seemed to cause any issues, then after having my hand sliced open by one and subsequent infection I went into a genocidal rampage and declared death to the species (as least in my tanks). I'd snap every one I could find with in an effort to...

    It's a Zombie Lennardi

My yellow wrasse definitely taught me that with his repeated launching out of the tank being pawed at by the cats, and the last time nearly becoming fish jerky only to make a complete recovery.

    It's a Zombie Lennardi

I have had an almost identical experience with my longhorn cowfish about two weeks ago. He got pushed into my bubble tip nem trying to move out of the way of the tangs and it nailed him pretty bad. His color faded to almost ghost white, very rapid breathing and struggled to maintain position in...

    chiller recommendations

The portable a/c I have is a 110v. The only downside is having to vent it. I ended up getting a 6" louvered vend cover and mounted it in the garage door since I didn't want to drill through the brick or run the exhaust to the attic. Works really well for this. My next door neighbor mounted a...

    chiller recommendations

I put an 8K BTU portable A/C unit in my garage and in the middle of August it will easily keep it at 78F during the day. My house faces west and there's no insulation on the garage doors and get blasted by direct sun from 4pm to about 7:30 pm so they act like two giant heatsinks and it doesn't...

What type of pre filter are you using on your tank?

Been using the same two mesh filter socks for about two and a half years now. They need to be changed every 2-3 days, and simply rinse them out in the sink with the hand sprayer. Then soak them in bleach water solution every 3-4 months.

$2500 Whole house natural gas generator build list.

Talked to an electrician about wiring in a transfer switch. He looked at my load panel and said since I'm only using 12 of the 24 spaces on my panel it would be far cheaper and easier to move the top two breakers to the other rail, mount a 50 amp power inlet and wire it to a dedicated 50 amp...

$2500 Whole house natural gas generator build list.

Running a multi-fuel generator definitely has it's plus sides and downsides. You're correct that gasoline is cheaper than propane, but in extreme weather events usually becomes scarce or may have to wait in long lines or limited to certain quantities. Propane tanks are almost always on hand at...

$2500 Whole house natural gas generator build list.

I had never heard of these before. After looking into it I'm amazed at how much of a difference they make and definitely worth the investment. Thanks for the suggestion.

$2500 Whole house natural gas generator build list.

My dad wanted to do something similar and started building a solar panel array. The issues he ran into is the cost/watt production and area required. In order to adequately power say a 15Kw battery wall would require 1,200 square feet of space for the panels. That's around 50-55 300W panels...

$2500 Whole house natural gas generator build list.

Interesting. I'll have to look into adding one of these to my system. I also saw that you linked the transfer switch from Electric Generators Direct. I was wondering if they were legit since their prices are so much lower than many other places. I was considering making my own transfer...

$2500 Whole house natural gas generator build list.

@R-BallJunkie This is very similar to the setup my dad has on his house, only his generator is 8500w peak so it won't run the A/C. It will run everything else along with a portable A/C unit though. My generator is just slightly smaller than yours at 9/12.5Kw and have a brand new 3 ton A/C...

You can get them on Amazon for about $15 and up. You may have to get a different pressure gauge setup though.
