I am trying to figure out what the hell i will place there. It's a bit of an issue during water changes but I started to draw some water of the sump to do changes which is helping that. While it looks cool, it has proven not to be a good decision.
Still cycling lol
ammonia is .05
nitrites are still above 200 ppb
nitrates are 16
its a slow cycle and my fault for not reading instructions
That being said most of us are going to cycle with fake rock and live sand.
I am still sticking with the fishless cycle. Ammonia is going down, nitrites are through the roof, and nitrates are increasing. The brightwell said not to use live sand or dry live rock both of which I did...lol.
I would disagree
I monitor nitrite in the cycling process to examine how ammonia is breaking down and obviously as a precursor to nitrates which I want to see to show my cycling is complete. I typically won’t test for ammonia or nitrites in a cycled aquarium unless my nitrates are high so...
I'm debating how to plumb a UV sterilizer to my tank. Some claim returning to the sump is not effective because it's only treating the sump, which seems off to me. I am considering pulling from sump and returning to display. Who has strong feelings on this based on experience?
Sorry build has gone slow but it is progressing. Big thanks to Dennis at Fjw for opening store for us to get aquascaping material and lighting.
Installed lights this morning and still working with the aquascaping.
Plan on plumbing the salt mixed and RO tank today.
I can't seem to find schedule 80 pvc here in cypress. Where is the best place to find some? I am getting close to add water and need to plumb my mixing tanks.
