Yes the skimmer is the end of the line since it requires so much flow. I will be adding the bio reactor and media chambers to it as well and having the pump at about 85% (4000pgh flow)
I'm adding apex flow monitors to each line so I can adjust the gate valves for flow.
Will be building the lower cabinet and finish that up this weekend!
I have new parts I'm ordering this week..
Adaptive Reed Control Board to hang on the wall with Apex equipment
Bashsea Bio-Reactor 8x30
Bashsea Media Reactor 6-18 x 2 (for carbon and gfo)
Apex auto feeder
Apex FMM for more...
My original 3150GPH pumps just wouldn't cut it and wasn't letting the tank cycle more then 600GPH at 100% and 400GPH on the manifold
I got a new return and manifold pump installed last week.
*Return - 5283GPH / Set at 70% and turning 1100GPH now
*Manifold - 4755GPH / Set at 70% and flowing...
Well its long overdue but here is the current update on my build!
Apex is setup and it has helped me keep everything in check!
*FMM is hooked up to monitor my return line and skimmer GPH
*Keeping the tank at 1100GPH cycling
*Skimmer is turning 800GPH and has helped pull more junk out
Have new...
UPDATE*
So I used Brightwell's XLM and Quikstart to do my fishless cycle. It has been going right along with the instructions until today. I have a slight bit of confusion now that my NITRATE spiked up to 80ppm semi early.
Ammonia dropped to 0 today
NITRITE stayed at its 2.0 mark.
Yesterday...
Well I've run into a snag and looking for a little advice on lights!
I have it narrowed down to 4 different lights:
Now I do have the EcoTech RMS rail already so all I need is one additional bracket to run the 4 XR15's
I have read a lot of good things about the AP9X and that 2 could possibly...
Initial tank setup completed!!
Today the last parts to my return line came in! I'm running duel 1" RFG nozzles and they truly work like a charm!
Please ignore the cloudy water! I leveled the sand again and disturbed it a little to much today.
UPDATE:
Green tip - Happy and healthy again! It decided it wanted to un-foot and walk all around the tank now, even got over the corner overflow wall and into the drain area!
4 new guys - Picked them up from a fellow member and they are all happy and healthy!
I used 3M Teflon fiber filled dope and 3M clear silicone mixed together for the threaded connections and I used regular Vaseline for the O-rings and threads for the disconnect couplers.
This weekend I got the drains and return lines 100% complete and leak free! The tank is up and running after a bit of tuning for the drain valves to get everything to quiet down a bit!
I'm not sure this video will upload but I'm giving it a shot

Drain and Return pumps took a bit of work but got everything setup leak free.
NOTE: If anyone decided to use the Apex flow motoring 2" meter here are some helpful times that I found the hard way..
1) USE PIPE DOPE AND SILICONE - I found a lot of stories after I had major leaking issues for the...
