ReefCleaners.org- No Fish Parasites in his tanks.

Try to get something replaced when they're dead... good luck. Maybe he was just in a pissy mood with me, but I just gave up trying to get replacements for all the dead stuff I got from him in my last order. Basically every dwarf cerith was dead, and I took a picture of them but that wasn't...

    88g Planet Crystaline New Build

Yeah, I've been running them as well for years. Wetsides are easy to clean, and that's nice. I've had several dry sides eat themselves just out of warranty though, and that's kind of soured my view of their reliability. In fact I just had a dry side go wonky - glad I had a backup. I'm a...

    88g Planet Crystaline New Build

Don't get too caught up in turnover ratios & numbers. Too much flow through the sump means loud drains, bubbles, salt spray, and lower sump dwell time. Lower flow isn't a bad thing at all, IMO. I've always ended up tuning the return pump flow to get the drain nice & quiet, and not worried...

Sunday was Sump Day. Pulled it all out, cleaned it, put it back in.

So the tank ran with just the rock & what came in on it all through May, June, July, and August. I caught ~15 gorilla crabs. They're destructive, terrible animals. I still love the rock, but you will have to deal with hitchhikers. Also, basically all of the macro that came in is gone. All...

    Any security camera people?

Most of these cameras work at night by using IR LEDs around the lens to emit nonvisible light, and record that. They work fine at short distances, but not well on dark nights from longer range. They all work fine on bright nights with the moon.

    Any security camera people?

I have a couple ring cameras. Hate them all except the door cam. Also require a cloud subscription. Ring, Nest cam (used to be drop cam), Netgear Arlo kind of all work like that. I also have a Foscam that I use for indoor - basically a dog cam. It was cheap & I can record it to my NAS.

    Trident [emoji823] sold out everywhere

Pretty cool gadget. I don't want one, but I think me of four years ago would have.

What apex modules are must have?

Agree with steve. WXM if you run Vortech pumps. Temperature is important. It can run an ATO as well, which is nice. Auto feeder is cool if you go on vacation for a couple days. pH is nice but not necessary unless you're running a calcium reactor. Then it's mandatory. You can get a pressure...

    Vortech Pump DC extension cable

Or you could get some appropriate gauge wire & lengthen it yourself. It'll cost pennies, be the perfect length, and it's only 2 wires... a ground and a power wire.

    Steve’s Reef 265 Build

I've been pretty happy with my Reeflink so far, and I was a previous Apex WXM user. It's certainly much simpler. However, I have a simple setup - one Radion, one Vortech, one Vectra. Looking good @steveb

Now that the huge PITA of dealing with air freight at Hobby is behind me by a bit, I have to say, I'm really enjoying the rock. I know I have one decent sized Gorilla crab to catch, but there is SO MUCH cool stuff in this tank already. I used standard sand - didn't have him ship me sand - and...

Something ate most of my Peppermint Shrimp. I found the head in my Vortech. I'm assuming that's what I saw the gorilla crab grab last night.... but I'm not sure. Some iPhone pics. These come out really blue!

Tomini Tang & it'll eventually die back, or not. I think it looks pretty cool as it is, to be honest. I probably won't add anything but fish, and maybe a Euphyllia of some sort, for quite a while. We'll see. First I have to take care of the Great Critter Hunt, before I do much of anything...

    kgk's Waterbox 75.2

While it's on my mind, I did the 45 gallon package. The first shipment was $90, and the second was $100, so all in was about $750. $545 plus $190, if I remember right...

3:30AM and all the stuff is in the tank. I know there's at least one really big gorilla crab in there; saw him duck out from under a rock to claim a snail for his own. Not sure if he's brand new, or if he's been in there the entire time. He'll have to go, though. First impressions are OK...
