Prob should’ve posted my stupid question here....what about an empty tank? Should I be concerned about the seals during the freeze?!?

Like water storage or aquarium ?

I have five empty aquariums in the garage. I hadn’t thought about it but I’m not too concerned. My RODI filter is on a wall that has interior heated space on the other side. My garage door is insulated but one wall is exterior and not insulated so I’m hoping it won’t get below 32°. I may hook up a halogen spot lamp out there. We have several freeze sensitive plants in there right now.

Cold enough I didn't do much outside but did pull my lifereef skimmer and pump and give it a once a year cleaning. Garage is nice and warm!

Killed the lights in the tank early today and no fuge tonight. Doubt it will help the blackouts but every little bit...

If there is a bunch of snow on the ground in the morning, I'm taking the buggy out in it and doing some donuts!!!! My wife said she will video. 😆

Power out at 2am. I woke up around 4. Portable genny running. Main tank pump and 2 heaters online. Air bubblers going on QT tanks in fishroom. It’s warmer in there so I’m going to wait until day light to run a cord out there.

fireplace going. House has already dropped to low 60’s.

Power went out for 20 min earlier...60 degrees in the garage and tank temp dropped to 75!

On the fun side, buggies are crazy fun in the snow!!!!

7th blackout today. We have power for about 1.5 hours and then off for 30 min. Had to add 3 more heaters so the tank could catch up. Not enough for me to break out the generator.

We got 4 inches of snow and the sun came out and melted a bunch even though it was 22.

Long time no see guys, I see I'm not the only one losing hair from this. I have not had power in jersey village since 1am last night. Currently dealing with my Honda eu2200 generator freezing up in this weather. I have a box with exhaust holes cut out and I wrapped it in blankets. Seems to help for now, opened up the choke a bit to let more air through.

It's running good now, but I'm not getting any sleep again tonight. Im going to babysit this generator till the sun comes out!!

You and me both. I have electricity but I last it for a while today. I’m keeping an eye on everything for as long as I can stay up. If I were to lose electricity with it being 15 degrees outside and not be awake to put the generator to work then I’m sure I’d lose my corals.

Just topped of my Genny in what my phone says feels like 2 degrees. Only 5 more hours till the sun comes up I think I can see the finish line!
