Power was on a whole 9.5 hrs today at the office. Thought I would return my poor Chicago’s to their tank... wishful thinking. I pack them up and 2 minutes before I arrive power goes off 😭. Turn around and go back home. They hate their cooler.

Lost power Monday afternoon in 77546, finally came back on around 2200hrs last night...want to talk about sleeping good jeez.

Still no water (lost that Tuesday) and have a 4x3 hole in my bedroom's celling from what I presume was ice melting and then leaking between the shingles and pooling in the insulation until the dry wall couldn't take the weight anymore.

My generator put in some serious OT running since Monday PM to last night, only turned it off once to check the oil level. Thankfully there are or was enough gas stations with power to keep the containers filled.

If anyone needs some RODI I have about 20 gallons in a brute and then another 10 NSW separately but could mix to get 30 gallons NSW.

I would like to note that flex tubing is not susceptible to freezing damage since it expands enough to prevent the tubes from bursting. if your in the market for a house or need to redo plumbing.

My generator crapped out last night. Worked fine all day mon. Tues. And Wed day but Wed night cut it off to refuel for the night and then started getting the co error and shutting off. Tech support said it could be a faulty sensor since my genny is outside and I had already changed the oil. Covered under warranty but luckily got power soon after genny crapped out. I'm stressing since I don't have a way to fix it and now am at the mercy of the electric company turning us off again. Hopefully the power outages are over and we can get through this nightmare with minimal losses.

👆 That's my story too. If the power goes out again for any length of time, I'm hosed. For the folks that have genny still up and running or for future events.. there is a normal light switch in our homes in the attic somewhere close to the HVAC system. This switch is an override on/off for the HVAC system. If one felt so inclined, you could wire in an extension cord connections to that switch to power the whole house HVAC system. If you know how to wire a fan, you can splice this. No need to touch the main panel and jack with voltage that could kill you. the extension cord can be plugged directly into the genny and you can heat /cool your entire house. Obviously read up on wattage requirements and what your genny can put out, but it would allow you to heat/cool the whole house.

disclaimer: I am not an electrician, am not suggesting you do this, have no idea if that is even legal or not. So, if this is something you want to try out, procced with caution and your full understanding of liability ownership. (i.e. if anything goes wrong, I herewith release myself from any and all liability that may, or may not, arise from attempting such a described above method.)

Water came back on in my neighbor hood and I have found out I had a pipe crack in the Master bedroom / master bath attic space.

Ask me how I know this....

I guess the insulation sponged most of it up until the drywall gave way and had at least 5 gallons come down all at once. Likley the TV we had mounted on the wall is toast and the chest of drawers that holds all of my day to day clothes was directly under the cave in.

Anyways the point to this is if you had a pipe crack get your butt to Home Depot or Lowes ASAP, there was a line atleast 50 person deep for just the pumbling supplies and there was virtually no CPVC parts (what i needed). Was able to scrounge enough to frankenstein a repair for now.
