Really like the design! I'm assuming you layered the acrylic sheets on the bottom and created channels to the fittings?
Bingo. The man works well with acrylic.

Correct the sheets are layered. I re-made the first one because I didnt take into account the length of the JG fittings, the black and white one does plus has a doubled up top piece.

Im having to get creative with the ozone and carbon reactor. The ozone will be mounted to the side up high. I got the mounts made up for it yesterday.

I mounted the ozone reactor in the stand and I'm not liking how much room I have left for regular maintenance.

I did buy 2 EB8s. I am going to put one in the stand and the second is going in the laundry room. I'll move the stenner once that's done and then I'll probably add some valves and switches for the water change barrels.

The eb8s got here and I got one of them mounted in the stand. I am going to have to order a 50-75ft apex bus cable so I can add the second one in the laundry room.

I think I have decided to scrap the ozone reactor idea due to the amount of space it will require in the stand. The main reason I was wanting to use it was so I could run the ozone effluent through carbon to remove any residual ozone smell.

The PH in the tank has been running consistently a little low (ranges 7.8-8.0) so I have been researching using a CO2 scrubber. The only concern I have is I am already pumping ozone into the skimmer venturi. I think I have an idea that might solve two issues I have-lower ph and residual ozone.

I have never used a CO2 scrubber and was reading that the scrubber media will become ineffective if it drys out. Everything says to add a table spoon in the bottom of the scrubber to prevent this from happening. I found a DIY thread somewhere where someone was feeding their CO2 scrubber from their skimmer cup, which supplied the scrubber with consistent moist air. I think if I add a scrubber, I can feed it through my skimmer collection container. I can run a tube from the skimmer collection container, to a carbon container then to the scrubber and then to the second port on the skimmer venturi. The carbon will remove the residual ozone and the smell of the waste the skimmer produces. In theory, the scrubber will slightly raise the ph and the carbon will remove any ozone/waste smell from the skimmer.

Another problem I was able to solve, I started having the skimmer air silencer filling up with water. When I feed the tank, the skimmer and the ozone generator turn off for 10 minutes. The first time I noticed the silencer was filling up with water was after the skimmer would turn back on after feeding. I realized I didnt turn the ozone air pump that feeds the venturi so when the skimmer turned off, the air pump would actually start pushing water up the tube that goes to the silencer. To fix this problem, I put the air pump on a controlled outlet that shuts off if the ozone and skimmer are off and I also drilled a small hole in the bottom of the silencer so if it does get water in it, it will drain instead of collecting in it.

Jeez, you've been busy. Why go through all that work? I prefer to just keep things more simple. Less to break, less to maintain.

Yeah I get ya. I love tinkering too. I've had too many projects for a while now to tinker. Loaded a bunch of busted tile that I removed from my living room, kitchen, and dinning room today then unloaded it at @reeftplace today to fill a hole on his property. Busy busy.

Right now I have it running 5 minutes per hour around the clock and I am dosing 5 ml of alk, 10 ml of cal per day with my water changes running at night. I hate to change anything because my numbers are stable.

I added the co2 scrubber last weekend and my ph is up, fluctuating now 8 to 8.15.

All of the LPS I have seems very happy and the few sps frags seem good.

I'm hoping I dont need to make any changes for a while.

I had a buddy that has just taken down a tank and he let me use the co2 scrubber he had to see if it would make any difference in mine. The soda lime media in it was not new so I dont know how effective it was starting out but my PH did slightly increase. It is now slowly going back down and I am pretty sure the media is exhausted. This co2 scrubber is one of the BRS ones they offer so it does not hold a lot of media. I placed an order for some soda lime and a larger filter housing (one of those 20 inch water filter housings) and will be putting that on when it gets here. I have read people needing to use a valve with co2 scrubbers because of it raising the ph too much. I will add one if I see this happening.

I have my skimmer draining into a collection container. I am feeding the co2 scrubber from a tube tapped into that container and then that air feeds the skimmer so it is recycling the air exhausted from the skimmer back into the venturi. Since doing this there is no smell of ozone. I am going to add in line a carbon filter before the co2 scrubber to remove any ozone that might be left.

The media for the scrubber got here yesterday. I filled the housing so I'm hoping the ph starts to come on up. If it does well, I'll find a permanent home for it somewhere.

Been a lot going on with the tank. I got a some frags the day after I posted in this thread last. I had them in a frag rack until I figured out where I wanted them. Finally came up with a spot for everything and epoxied them all in. The next day my neighbor gave me 3 more so I found a spot for them and got them epoxied for a total of 13 new fags. My skimmer was going nuts from all the epoxy so after a couple of days, I did a big water change and put a bunch of carbon in the tank. The skimmer has finally started to settle back down.

Right before I did the water change, a had an alkalinity swing and lost one of the frags. I started looking at Alkalinity monitors/controllers since the Trident is never available. I have seen the GHL KH Guardian in it has been and seems promising but everywhere I checked says it has been discontinued. Then I found the KH Director that GHL offeres and decided to go that route. After looking at all of the GHL P4 features, I decided to convert from Apex to GHL. Doing that is going to be a slow process because Im not going to remove the Apex until I get the P4 completely taken over everything I have the Apex doing now.

I added that large C02 scrubber a few weeks back and I saw a little bit of a bump in my PH, but nothing substantial. While the skimmer was going crazy, I decided to take the scrubber off and see if anything changed and saw nothing. I was about to write off that idea; I tool the housing apart and had gotten water in it. Long story short, it was blocked. I put some new media in it and within a couple hours I took it back off. My PH went from 8.1 to 8.35 and was still climbing. This worked a little too well. If I continue to use it, I will need to get an electric valve to be able to control the air air source feeding the skimmer.

As of today, all the corals are doing well. I got a descent video of the tank yesterday, need to figure out how to upload it.
