Are you willing to spend $2.00 for a fish trap?
Do you have 5 minutes to make it?
Then read on!

Supplies purchased from "99 Only" 2 weeks ago.

I have caught a few this way, and other using my method have as well!

1. Go to the dollar store and get a clear gallon container.
2. Same dollar store get a plastic slotted spoon that fits just over the opening.
3. Cut the handle off the spoon.
4. Drill a hole in the spoon and the clear container and attach spoon with a zip tie but loose.
5. Drill a few small holes around the side of container to allow some water in for circulation and a larger hole on top to place the food. Sand or pick away any sharp protruding plastic.
6. Drill a hole in the top of spoon and top of container.
7. Tie fishing line to the top of spoon and thread through the hole in the top of container.
8. Use a magnet to secure this in the tank. Place it at the level the fish you want to catch usually eats.
9. Prepare for fish to freak for a few days.
10. Feed only in this container and soon the fish will go in it for food. Could be up to a week depending on the shyness of the fish. DO NOT MOVE the trap to put in food. The hole in the top is so you can use a baster or tubing to drop food in the trap without disturbing it. You can also use the baster to blow out waste in it if it accumulates.
11. Watch and when the one you want enter pull fishing line fast.
12. Send MarkieB a PM and offer him lunch for saving you $30.00 :D

MarkieB's design looks good.
I caught my Koran angel yesterday using a similar device: a standard 1 gallon jug and a fish net.

I laid the jug down on its side in a corner of the tank with a sheet of nori tied to a rock inside. On the 1st day, the fish were very hesitant to go in but at the end of the day, they finished up the whole sheet.

On the second day, I put in a new sheet of nori and within a couple minutes the Koran got in. I lowered a fish net and covered the opening before he could turn around and got him. You have to be fairly quick but it's doable.

Found this Bug Tap at Target for $1. today. Looks like it can save someone some time

Hello All,

I found this $1. bug trap at Target today. It was up front where they have a bunch of their $1. kids toy's stuff. My Target is the one at 249 and Louetta, but I suspect this will be available at all Targets for Summer 2012 $1. toys.

This may help anyone that may need a few of these, and do not want to take the time for the DIY. Attached are pictures with side and top and side shots. Note the bottom is the same as the top.
