So, it was amazingly pleasant being introduced to the cooler, more welcoming side of this hobby yesterday. I was left with only one dilemma in my coral searching ventures….. how will I ever top the amazing hospitality and welcoming attitude that I received?

You know those quick 5 minute coral visits that end up being a 1.5 hour enjoyable conversation? That happens to me with both @BigRick and Jason @Ostentum, while viewing some pretty coo show pieces. These guys were super cool about sharing their perspective on commonly asked questions as well as those theory suggestions that are not actually practical application. It’s a hella lot easier to learn when you can look at a tank and see the results, and listen to the true concerns (as opposed to theory suggestions) of a reef tank.

I just wanted to take a moment to highlight and extend my appreciation to these 2 gentlemen for taking time for my education. This concept is what I recall from this group many many years ago. It’s what got me back into the hobby and it is what will keep new reefers involved in this community. I cant wait to meet more of you guys on September 11th. Such a sacred day….

The single thing I recommend most to people getting into the hobby is to find a local club and go see the tanks yourself of those that are successful. From just talking shop, you will find answers to questions that you didn’t know to ask. Having said that, don’t listen to a single word @BigRick has to say. He’s a total noob :p:cool:
