So least night when my dad and I were going to bed we noticed his rainbow nem was splitting! I was like yes finally! And he was like freaking out. Mind you his nem 10” across around mid day. So we go to sleep I just woke up 10 mins ago from typing this and go down and check if the baby crawled on the glass or sum. But no I find that it split again!! My dad doesn’t know this yet he is still asleep. But like wow! And it looks like it spit out a tiny nem so technically it had 3 babies in one night!

So my question is was that a bad thing or a good thing? The one thing that may have caused it was my dad did a 10 gal water change in one night. He usually does 5 gal Wednesday and 5 gal Friday. Could have cause it to split a bunch load of times?

Here a pic enjoy!

Sea life often splits several ways at a time. Especially when you wait a long time. I have waited on ricordia to split for 10 months or a year, then it turns into 3. It is safer for the animal to store up lots of energy and split 3 ways than to get just enough and split in 2 directions. If you leave them alone, you will probably have 6 or 8 before you realize it.

Maybe feed it once a week. That will probably speed it up. I never messed with anemones much, but they are closely related to shrooms. I have seen shrooms procreate in 3 ways, naturally. Anemones just split, as far as I know. I have a rhodactis mushroom that does not split or walk. It sends runners in all directions. It looks like a zoa mat. When it finds daylight, a mouth grows. I did not even know that was a thing.

Point is, find what your specimen likes and do that. I would not split one of those rhodactis mushrooms down the middle, but I would put one on flat Rock so the runners don't need to go very far.

Yea my dad feeds it mysis once a week when he feeds corals. Been doing that for the past 6months before that I normally would feed it krill once a month and reef roids when my dad feeds his corals.
