Thats a smart idea... just a clear outdoor box?
Yeah, is just a cheap weatherproof cover. Uses the two screws that mount the switch to pull it tight to the wall and has a foam gasket. Not the best outdoor weatherproof cover I have used, but good enough to keep salt water from dripping or splashing where I don't want it.Thats a smart idea... just a clear outdoor box?
Yeah, I have no clue what that is. Almost looks like a cap leaked, but there are none. Don't see how it could be water damage either. Also, both lights worked fine for days when I tested them, been off and just turned on today even though still cycling since I wanted more light in my office and happened to look over when the second one died.Yikes... I have 12 26hds and never had a problem other then leds burning a hole in the lens... thats crazy... I thought that was contact cleaner at first.

Yeah, I painted it white when I got it. was just bare wood. Used a pure white water resistant paint. If you look into a certain "hobby" they paint the inside of small grow rooms white since it reflects 90 some % of the light in a diffused manner.I like that the inside of the canopy is white. I often wonder how much light is wasted being absorbed by a black canopy that could otherwise be reflected back into the tank, but have been too lazy to borrow the PAR meter and experiment.
