So I woke up this morning and the new baby was kinda hanging by a powerhead I had turned off. I dropped some of the little pellets in and they were completely ignored, tried a couple of times and he wanted nothing to do with them. So I logged into online school and worried.
Fast forward to 12:30 and I feed the tanks frozen food. He perks up a little and inspects it but doesn’t actually eat it. Dropped a couple more pellets in and he doesn’t even blink. At this point I’m concerned about him eating so I introduce my soon-to-be female flurry clown in a net box. I feed her frozen like usually and she goes nuts eating it, the new baby watches and success! He eats one bite of a tiny piece of the frozen food. I left the female in the tank with him to start the bonding process, as she is less than 1/4 of an inch bigger than him and needed a boyfriend.
2:45 rolls around and I’m off school so I go check on them. The female is freaking out trying to get out of the box and the male is freaking out trying to get in. So, I released the female and observed. I believe they have paired! It’s still super early in the pairing process but I think they hit it off! Here’s some pics! Sorry for the subpar quality, but my camera hates photographing white in a reef tank. New baby on the bottom in both pics
