What's going on in the pic on the left? Is that something sticking out of the coral?

Fireworm - coral eaters. Bad thing about KP rock. I would leave in sump and not introduce into DT for a while. Also fuzzy black tip crabs of all colors but the claws give it away that itll will eat fish.

So far I’ve only found the one fireworm. I do have at least 2 pencil urchins and a pistol shrimp. I’ve had the kp rock in my holding system for about a month now. Not feeding. Just light. My hope was to starve out any undesirable crabs and such.
