Sorry for super crappy pics

This is my first tank and I know I probably should have started with a larger tank but I wanted to do the dueling mini-m. Just wanted something more original. Stand is sapphire aquatics acrylics stand.

Saltwater tank specs
ADA 5.5 mini m tank
live sand, live rock
Vortech MP10
Eheim 2228 with live rock rubble
lighting is 70w MH 14000k

I need a custom sump and overflow!!!!!

Thinking of using a 12"x12"x12" sump size but maybe too small to fit a protein skimmer?

Other option would be a 14.17in X 9.45in X11.8 in size sump

Also worries about heat issues.

Nice setup I guess you will be going with a HOB overflow now that it's already set up?

May want to try a nano hob skimmer. An overflow and sump with in sump skimmer and return will add a lot of bulk to your setup.

i wouldnt think you need an overflow for a tank that small, heck a filter even for that matter. I might run some carbon on back but mostly just for surface agitation. Water changes often is the way to go.

What type of bulb did you get for your mini solar?

I have a planted one I'm converting to salt planted macro algae.
