Looks to be Genus Cambrus or Procambrus. Procambrus clarkii being the Red Swamp Crayfish. I work for TPWD Coastal and just today we certified a water body record for largemouth bass from Sabine Lake and caught sunfish in our shrimp trawls. 2 years of over 100” of rainfall will do that.

Pistol shrimp made a new cave who knows why he left his other one. Well this Friday I’m going to get a new 30 gallon tank and will probably be cycled and ready for when summer comes to catch things. Looking forward to fill it up with galveston critters this spring and summer[emoji106]

Can you get a better picture? Was it salt or fresh?

I think you may have a lobster?
It was found in saltwater and unfortunately I don't have a tank setup yet because I'm living in a dorm so I didn't keep it. I maybe could find another and will snap more pics if possible.

Thats awesome!! Let me know next time you go. I have a few spots out there!!

What dorm are you staying in? I did the handrails in the newer buildings over looking the lounge area. The ones by the gas station.

Hi all.
I Think i am going to do a Galveston species only nano tank. A long time ago I collected from Galveston and got the usual blenny, rock anemones, pep shrimps, crabs and my favorite a sargassum angler. He was fantastic looking.

Anyways, I will try to keep up to date on the tank when I get one. Was fun then and hope it should be fun now.

Where is a good place to start?

In my opinion I would say the jetties along the seawall... best jetties would probably be the one in front of rainforest cafe or the one in front of academy which ever one you want
