I have an ORA pearl berry colony that started last week with stn and today I gave a chance to this recipe. Let see what happens. I will keep post here.

Unfortunately I'm jumping on the bandwagon too with a couple corals. One I got last October at the frag swap - went to work yesterday and it looked fine, got home and it was almost all gone. All the original tissue is dead, just some of the new encrusting tissue is alive. This seems somewhat odd since RTN often starts at the base and works its way up. The other is a new release from JF that I got in March. Its demise wasn't as rapid, but same story - only a little of the new encrusting tissue may still be alive.

I followed Andre's procedure today and we'll see what happens.

I'm guessing the stressor in my case is the dino nightmare that has taken over the tank. It has even killed my Xenia.

Put some cyano in there. I thought you did that before. Did it not knock out the dino?

I did not try adding any cyano. I had some in there before but it disappeared. I still have some hair algae, but mostly dinos. I had ordered some sodium nitrate from Loud Wolf, but it never came and they ignore my emails and phone calls. I ordered some stump remover today from Amazon and hopefully getting the nitrate above 0 will help.

I'm also sending in a Triton test to make sure there isn't something bad with the water.

Come get some cyano from my tank and raise the nutrients. It will knock it out. I'd much rather deal with cyano after the battle is done if I were you.

My pearl bearry colony continued with stn after the treatment, so I fragged today. I ended with a big frag of ora pearl bearry and small frags

Thanks for the feedback. I think the Lugols and hazel dips are probably not a cure all, but I think they just serve the purpose of helping the coral. Similar to humans, a lot of treatments don't entirely eradicate an issue, but rather give our bodies a much better chance of fighting off the problem.

Can you share a PH curve?
Or alternatively the lowest PH in the morning to determine if you suffer from excessive carbonic acids which are strongly linked to RTN/STN events as one of the big culprits.

I don't have low ph, I calibrated my probe this week. You will see in my graphic.
