Anyone got ideas for a good tank size for freshwater angel fish? I had 5 in a 30 gallon bowfront. One of them laid eggs and the aggression has gotten outta hand. Had to move 3 out to a temporary 10 gallon...what i had on hand. These 3 get along. But worried about putting them back in with the other 2 so want to move everyone into a larger tank. Any recommendations on what size?

Back in ancient times, when I was in college and a quality tank had a stainless steel frame and a slate bottom, I kept angelfish in a 50-gallon. As I recall I had 4 of them plus a silver dollar. Two of them paired off and spawned fairly often, and I didn't have any aggression issues. Of course, individuals vary in their aggression, so I can't promise everything will be wonderful if you switch to a 50. And maybe the silver dollar helped diffuse aggression among the angels.

So petco no longer does the $1/gallon sale. It's now just 50% off. Still okay in my book. Winner is the 75 gallon. Will be consolidating 2, maybe 3 of my smaller tanks now.

The half off still comes out less than $2 a gallon in most situations, no? I remember they started doing that a while back with 40 breeders and they were something like $50-60 per tank instead of $40, which is still a hell of a deal.

The $1 only went up to 30 gallons anyway. Not complaining cause they don't have to discount anything
