Hello MARSH Supporting Members, The time has come to nominate and elect the Board of Directors and Officers for the 2022-2023 year.

Applications to run will close May 19, 2022 at 23:55. If you are interested in running for a board position you must apply HERE. <-- sign up using this link

When applying/running for a position please keep in mind the By-Law requirements in Section 7.01: LINK TO BI-LAWS

Elections will held on May 23, 2022 by electronic vote if enough candidates apply and it is required.

A few important things to note if you would like to run for the BoD:

• These are volunteer positions so no pay.

• If you want to volunteer, please only do so if you are willing to make meetings and help. We need people that are interested in helping to improve our community.

• Applicants should be in good standing with MARSH. Members who find difficulty in adhering to MARSH forum rules and policies or require frequent moderation should carefully consider if they are a good fit to serve as a BoD member. As a Director, you would serve as a roll model to other members and guests. As a member of the Board of Directors, you would be expected to enforce referenced rules and policies, including BoD Code of Conduct, By-laws, and Confidentiality Policy.

Please evaluate your personal lives before applying. The BoD's put in a lot of hard work in the evenings and weekends (sometimes even at work!) to make MARSH an awesome club. If you have many other activities that consume your time, you travel for work, you just want a blue name on MARSH, you have some life changing events coming up, etc. PLEASE do NOT run for the BoD.

If you just want to help out but don’t have the time to dedicate to being on the BoD, we are always looking for volunteers at events.


Responsibilities Include:
1. Prioritizing attending all meetings and events.
2. Submit or contributing to a minimum of 2 activities that they would like to organize & execute.
3. Adopting sponsoring fish stores in their area and representing MARSH at the store.
4. Actively helping the officers make Reef Currents and other events successful.
5. Help moderating the forum

• Treasurer - (this position will be selected by the BoD at the first meeting)

6 Directors are needed

Gregg, to clarify, are there a total of 9 members or 10? I believe that your details above indicate that the 4th officer (treasurer) will be selected from one of the 6 directors. Is this correct?

to me it looked like 6 bod positions available. Of those 6, 4 get extra duties.

how often are meetings and where are they normally held?

Anywhere from 4 to 6 times per year and typically done online on zoom

6 bod and 3 officers are elected, of the 6 bod they select a 4th officer to be treasurer… for a total of 9. Of those 9 they can appoint a 10th bod If they feel it’s warranted.
