If I had the time and someone bankrolled the project, I’d absolutely build one of these.

You are talented Cody I’m sure you can do it! 👍 cost should not be more than $5-6k.

Got this rock from FJW looks like hatian rock but it’s not. Super nice shelves pieces and sort of smooth texture…very very light. The biggest piece 16x10.

Was that special order or just some magical stuff Dennis had on hand?

I have the 200int. Was in my 210 gallon, is sitting dry till I set that back up...

Worked well for me, ran pump at 100% and used gate valve to adjust level to adjust skimmate. Float switch is nice and had the apex watching it so I got an alert when it turned off.

Only annoyance I had was micro bubbles getting out of it. Might have been the way I was running it and I kept them out of the tank so was not too bad.

Unless they changed it, the base does not come off and the tube with the connector for the pump does not come out, so cleaning can be a bit more of a challenge, but still doable.

Yeah I have nothing but good things to say about my experience with the reef octopus skimmer - it’s not cheap but my last one lasted over 6 years.

So found some really dirty dirty rock - time to clean. It took 2 gallons of muriatic acid and lots of pressure washing. My acid mix was very potent.

Tank ✅
skimmer ✅

what lights

Haha yeah that was some nasty foam. My kid is 9 he said dad are you doing science experiment 😂😂😂

I’m happy with my G5 radions - also adding some T5s to the mix.

Remember you can upgrade your G5 to G6 - ecotech sells an upgrade kit.

What’s the difference between a tactical pistol and a pistol?

Way better than just regular pistol. Yes you can buy a pistol for $250 but it's not in the same class as a higher end ones especially with a suppressor option. You won't understand until you handle one.

It's like black box leds vs radions. Both are led fixtures but many reefers prefer buying radions (at a much higher cost).

while it is ugly, i got 5k rounds thru it and still hits steel targets at 100 yards so no complaints there
