Hi y’all. It’s been a while since I’ve posted. My dad and I are gonna. Start a new hobby. Boating! We would love to pick some ones brain about basically everything there is to boating.

We’ve picked a type, brand and model.
It will be a center console Robalo R222. We are most likely going to buy new.

What boat do you have?

Is any one going to the boat show this week?

I hear the two best days of owning a boat are the day you buy the boat and the day you sell the boat.

But seriously, I've always had a boat in the family. Dad always took us fishing. The boat you mentioned looks like a fishing boat as well. It has a deep V hull so it will cut through waves better, making for a smoother ride. Plus, it can take on bigger waves. Having said that, it doesn't look like it is will handle shallow water too well. Who knows though, they make some pretty awesome boats these days. Anyway, if it isn't a shallow water boat then it's probably not the best boat for fishing the bays. It just really depends on what you want to do with it

I second what Cody said about being careful what boat you choose and what you want to use it for. I like fishing the cuts, shallows, and various bayou around so I am happy in a simple flat bottom.

He used to use a deep hull boat in the bays. That's how he got his name on MARSH.

So we want a inshore offshore boat. So a deep Hull is a must. We plan to take it to Florida next summer that we already have planned so I’ll be making the drive a few day in advance to tow the boat there. Lol. Anyway at the boatshow we just going to figure out if that is the boat we want. Also we are looking at some sea hunt ultras and a tidewater. Plus it has to be a newer boat for the added luxury features for my mom cause she is the one if we get that particular boat 😂. And also one up side to buying used boat which a lot of people have recommended, is that it comes with chartplotters and that stuff. And I love simrad. Never used it but something about having simrad on my boat just feels good. Like having an apex 😂.

We have a Seaswirl 21ft cuddy cabin. We primarily use it for FW boating. It's been a while since we've been out though. We need a new trailer before we can register it for Texas so it's been sitting in boat storage in Lake Conroe for a few years on a freshly rebuilt motor just itching to be opened up! We have owned it for about 17yrs and have had tons of fun with it!

Probably going to need to have that motor serviced. They don't do well sitting that long.
