So we have a ranch down in South America In Colombia, and we want to install cameras around the property, that will be able to record and that we can access from here in the states. Any tips and recommendations would greatly help!
Thanks
Lucas

I've run

Foscam / Amcrest - Generally decent, but not great at anything. A lot of false positives. DVR functionality is horrible, but you can FTP to them and grab whatever.
HikVision - FW was annoying, and it kept breaking email notifications but the picture quality was the best.
Wyze - Cheap and works great, but not outdoor rated. It's my preferred indoor one. Pretty easy to use.
Ring - Preferred outdoor one, not too many false positives. Not the best quality but ease of use is amazing.

Really the thing comes down to your internet quality. Also if you want to store locally to a server down there you can do zoneminder or blue iris and then you only need to connect to that. That'd be what I'd do if I went with the Foscam / Amcrest / Hikvision. Another thing is a lot of them are made by the same companies. I can't remember which at the moment.

Personally if I was adding new ones it'd be Ring or Wyze.

I have a couple ring cameras. Hate them all except the door cam. Also require a cloud subscription.
Ring, Nest cam (used to be drop cam), Netgear Arlo kind of all work like that.

I also have a Foscam that I use for indoor - basically a dog cam. It was cheap & I can record it to my NAS.

I have the Ring Alarm system with professional monitoring so the cloud aspect is included in that.

Thank you we don’t want to really skimp out on the price. Like we want top notch. Also what is the quality at night?

Most of these cameras work at night by using IR LEDs around the lens to emit nonvisible light, and record that.
They work fine at short distances, but not well on dark nights from longer range.
They all work fine on bright nights with the moon.

Reolink is a good brand to look at. I installed a hard wired one at my house. They have a nice app. They update the app occasionally and release new camera models as the tech improves.
