Don’t know what you are trying to say. I have never really had any problems setting up GHL although I have never used the SA versions. I just like the hydros system from what I have seen so far.

A lot of folks having issues with GHL. Won’t be buying anything else from them. I even had Josh Kraft (GHL expert) come in for 2 hrs at buddies house and he couldn’t get the equipment online. We had to wait until Vinny got back from vacation if that tells you anything. Glad you got yours going easily.

Ditched the Kamoer feed pump going to my calcium reactor, changed it out for an old school needle valve $20 bux (fleabay, Spears 1/4" Globe Pattern Needle Valve 5591-002P) and a $8.50 1/4" flowmeter from Amazon (Gredia), + a $10 cable from Coralvue.
Now my tank is dead silent without the low audible drone coming from the Kamoer......nothing wrong with it, but it but out a low hz hum that was distinct.
Only a few days into the swap, seems there's some drift on the needle valve, need to give it a tweak every two days. May have to increase the pressure coming off the manifold to compensate.
Given this flowmeter is so cheap, planning on swapping every few months to compensate for build-up, still cheaper than replacing the tubing.

how could you tell if the drift is from the flow meter getting a coat of slime and slowing down vs the needle valve actually drifting?

i cant.
Only a few days installed. I plan on getting three total (16 bux more, big spender over here) flow meters, making quick connect harnesses and hot swapping every month, clean and rotate.
Should be a 1 minute task, isolate, swap, rebalance.
Going to crack the ball valve on the feed manifold thats upstream of the needle valve incrementally to see if i can the balance..maybe a small tweak once a week....were talking about a 1/4 or 1/8 turn on the needle valve. So far, pretty stable Kh ranging from 8.0 to 8.2 over the last few days.

Isn't the mastertronic essentially a reefbot rebranded? I had a reefbot it was an okay device but expensive to keep up with reagents and ultimately was not very accurate. I just don't trust something electronic around water that has almost no protection. I still don't understand why none of these manufacturers pot their circuitry....
