Hey all,

I have a LR hitchhiker (picture below) that might possibly be a species of nudibranch that will eat anemones, including aptasia, but I don't have any aptasia to test this theory.

Does anyone have a small piece of LR with 3-10 aptasia on it? I would like to place this guy in with them and see if it eats them. I can then return the LR back to you, but no guarantee the aptasia will be gone :)

South side of town please.

Brian,

I'm in the Heights, and will be home a good amount of tonight killing off aiptasia from my rockwork. If you'd like to come get some of it and try it I'll certainly lend it to you. I'm supposed to leave town to go to Austin straight out of work tomorrow, so I don't have time to drive to Pearland tonight.

Heck I can get some off the macro in my sump for you.

That would be cool, aptasia not attached to rocks works better for my testing. You going to be home around Sunday afternoon? Or I could get it one evening next week.

I have plenty if you would like more.

I'll see if they will eat one this weekend and we'll go from there, might be convenient as I need to get you your fire coral frag. PM me when you will be available next week. I'm available M-Th in Galveston, morning would probably be best for you to get it from me so it doesn't sit in a bag all day.

For those of you not following my nudibranch thread:

I decided to test a very small aiptasia with the adult nudibranchs I have and one of them ate it in less than 10 minutes! A similiar sized tulip anemone takes about 1 hour to consume. This might mean the tulips are tougher and the babies might have trouble eating them. I have not had any visible babies yet, despite about 16 egg masses hatching. Part of it was stupid water quality issues on my part, but part might be the tulips being too difficult to eat.

SOOOO....GIVE ME YOUR AIPTASIA!!!

Please loose aiptasia only, I can't afford to lose one of the adults right now in a rock. Aiptasia attached to algae would be fine too. Since I can't access MARSH during most days now,

please email me at garagebrian@yahoo.com if you have aiptasia available. I can only pickup aiptasia along the SE side of town along the 45 corridor all the way to Galveston and also, anyone coming to the Sept 10th tank tours can bring me aiptasia then too.

Please reply ASAP, I have several egg masses about to hatch and I would like to put some loose aiptasia in their hatchout bucket. All sizes are welcome, but small ones would be very cool!

If anyone has majano anemones I would really like to try a few of those as well!!!

Thanks,

Brian
