I am pushing hard on my Texas Bays Biotope plans.
I want it to look like a fishing dock with pinfish as the main fish.
I would like to have shoal zones plants (not macroalgae) I want turtle grass.
Has anyone had success with turtle grass or similar plants.
I have found few resources to buy it and it is pretty expensive.
When I read people's reviews they have difficulty keeping it from melting and dying!
I know where I can field collect some. It would be a 300 mile one-way trip.
I am not sure if I can legally collect it in Texas. I am a Texas resident and always have a fishing license.
I cannot find where it is illegal to collect plants, unless it is in a State Park.
I really prefer to have native plants, i.e. turtle grass, sea grass etc.
If I cannot use shoal type plants, I will go for a similar look and use Prolifera Macroalgae.
I have plenty of that already.
Anyone know of a good source for sea grasses and tips to keep it alive?
