Curious if anyone is using this?

They seem to have an interface for using with a dosing pump. haven't seen any indication that it needs to be refrigerated "YET".. still reading I'm thinking this might be good for anthias and such as well.

I have been using easy sps evo and booster in my 280 tank for about 8 months and have been very impressed. The colors in my corals are finally back.

Refrigeration is absolutely not needed. This is one of the main benefits that made me go this route.

What's really not so cool is that the gel is not viscous enough to properly move through the tubing of the doser. lots of work with zero gratification. bleh.. I am curious though, is this a supplement to something like AB+ or a replacement?

edit: there is a small 3 way valve they sell on their website so maybe something to let air into the process? It seems like the pump is having a hard time even pulling the stuff out. little thin on set up details.

So yea.. you need the valve to dose. There are 2 different kinds for the 2 different gel package sizes. Kinda dumb though since some places that sell the gel don’t even sell the valves or even mention them. I wound up having to order from another website and pay more for shipping than the 5$ valve.

The product is fantastic though. I have read some things about alk being affected and will have to look a little deeper but the corals looooove the stuff. I target feed reefroids but the reaction to this product is way more amazing.

I have read the entire posting about this on R2R and admit it peaked my interest. @GotFrogs are you using just the Easy SPS or the SPS Booster as well?

It was my understanding that SPS cannot feed on phytoplankton (SPS Booster) as they lack the ability to breakdown the cell walls, so the increase in growth was a by product of other filter feeders utilizing and then subsequently boosting nutrients.

Seems like alot of people where mainly un-happy about the lack of instructions, and like mentioned above the valve not being included with the gel.

Are you seeing comparatively better growth than before as you mentioned color already.

I am using both and highly recommend them! My corals were all washed out before and now have great color and look more healthy. I was using the smaller bags but recently bought a large pro bag. dc31229cde1b4cccbd35e9868a1d0d1a.jpg

Give it a try for 2 months and see how your tank responds. It is not an expensive test.

They use to come with the valve/plug and I have been just reusing them. My dosing pump has zero problems pumping the stuff and I have been through at least 15 bags of the stuff.

For me it was just a hassle with that valve. I had to order it separately and while don’t mind spending money, stupid things like extra shipping charges that are easily avoided by simply planning, burn me up. It always feels like I could literally roll my window down and just throw out $10 or whatever.

Send Coralvue a message and let you know what you think! I agree, the $1 part should just be included like it was in the past!

I did call them and had to order the part separately. Again poor planning since I had just purchased all the little Knick knacks I needed a few days prior and all the other stuff of interest was sold out or they didn’t sell it at all because they are an OEM distributor not a sales channel for some items. I couldn’t even make up the $50 minimum for free shipping.

Reviving this thread...

I just got my order of the 250ml pouches to try out. Do you guys turn your skimmer around the dosing period?

I would prefer not to feed my skimmer and seems like turning it off would give corals and micro fauna more time to collect it, or am I over thinking it?
