So I've had this Apex classic for years and I'm wondering if it's on the way out? It's been working great then the other night it stopped connecting to the internet. I figured it was a minor issue with the extender. So I restarted it a few times still nothing. So now I decided to dive into it and swap cables, update the extender and still no connection. So then I did the best thing and hard-wired it in.

I can get it to respond to a ping immediately after being plugged in

And then it stops responding. I've tried leaving everything unplugged etc. All the lights are on it. The status LED is green on the "module box" and on the power side it's still flashing. I'm trying to find a new USB cable thinking that may be stopping the connection between the two but I would imagine the web aspect would still work if that was the issue.

My other main issue is I don't have the display unit. One of my older cats that I no longer have ate the cable. Would anyone be able to loan me one (around the League City/Friendswood area)? Just so I can ensure things aren't out of control while I figure this out?

Yes.

Long story short... the main Apex Classic is dead. Neptune no longer has boards in stock and said their capability to repair them is pretty minimal. So I bought a second Apex Classic off a forum member to keep everything alive and monitored. They are offering me a deal on the new Apex units, but it's really not a great deal so I'm not sure if I want to "upgrade" when really there's almost no major benefit that I see / want.

If the "new" classic you picked up is doing the job it at least buys you more time until newer pre-owned models hit the second hand market.
