Are my rocks okay (1 Viewer)

I have not watched my tank as carefully over the past year to do family illness. I noticed that I have a purple reed growth on my rocks. It is not slimy. I want to grow anemone again. Can anyone identify the growth on the rocks?

It looks like some type of algae or cyano to me. Not necessarily great, but not a big deal either. You may be able to scrape it off with an old toothbrush then syphon it out. It will not prevent you from keeping anemones.

Thank you. I have not been on since I posted due to sickness in my family. I appreciate your kindness. I purchased about 10 turbo snails and they did the job.
