I got this guy about one month ago, still in QT. Apparently they start out completely yellow, but they must turn blue fairly early because this one is less than 2 inches long. I have not been able to get him to eat any flakes, pellets, or frozen food, but he loves dried seaweed and Reef Nutrition Arcti-pods. He had a few parasites on some of his fins, but I added copper and they seem to be gone. I'll probably keep him in QT another couple weeks.

I was especially excited to find one of these, because I got to see them in their natural environment when I was snorkeling in St. John.

He seems to have discovered the fountain of youth, because today he partially reverted back to his juvenile coloration. I had never seen him with yellow dorsal and anal fins before, or so much yellow on the body. Maybe he's going through a midlife crisis, although he is awfully young for that. He just went into the display tank a week ago today.

Yes very cool fish.

Saw hundreds in Bahamas; we were checking out Nicolas Cage's crib right on the ocean were cruising in a small boat. The water was crystal clear so you could see many of these tangs. :)

Mine flip-flopped back and forth for a little while when young with varying degrees of yellow on his body. Seemed to be spurred by changes in it's environment. The yellow tail will most likely last awhile :)
