so yah :( I lost a coral banded today to my MP10... I really hate loosing stuff that way, I feel that I am responsible for the safety of my livestock and after reading several ____ vs mp10 posts I still bought one...

So, with my whining out of the way, anyone got any hints or way to "baby proof" this thing? I've delayed getting an anemone because of it as well.

It currently sits way up high away from everything but things eventually find their way up there I guess.

Yeah when mine molt I always find it stuck to the MP10. You can buy covers for them.

My problem w/the gramma's is that they swim into the output when the pump is off for feeding....well actually mp10 once and evo 750 once.

Yes my watchman goby kept doing that too, I just turn it down really low now and it cycles food around avobe the top slowly, it works good for me.

I did get one of those guards in the box, I am going to put it on, also I looked for my shrimp and have not found it yet, my wife was the one that pulled it out and flushed it so I can't examine it, now im hoping it was just molten skin.

Doesnt the MP10 have a feeding mode? My mp40s do. Only thing I have ever lost to an MP40 is a seahare. Now a maxi jet on the other hand killed a baby clown trigger. He pulled the strainer off and then swam into it.

Yeah it does but I run it off an outlet on my ACJr (mostly so that when we go out of town it makes it easier on the animal sitter). When I feed the fish I stop all of the pumps for 15 minutes.

careful on those foam pads they build up algae quickly.

what i've seen some people do it build an eggcrate cage for their powerheads.
