So I am starting to see the first little bit of green hair algae in my tank. It’s a 72 bowfront. Would a juvenile yellow tang be a good idea to combat it. I know the 72 is a little small for an adult tang but I am also working on getting a 180 up and running so within 6 months I could transfer the tang into that system. If not a yellow tang what else would y’all recommend?

Do you dose any "predatory" bacteria like Vibrant, Continuum, etc?

That may be the "easiest" way to combat it.

Plus running a tang through QT would take time too (if you QT (you should)).

There is no problem at all getting a YT small then moving it to larger tank as it grows.
I've got a small yellow in my 40b and my 50g lowboy.

I have not used anything like this to date but will definitely look into it

I think I may go this route. I have my QT up and running and with foam filters that have been in my sump for a couple of months. Any recommendations on where to find one locally?

I have two pin cushion urchins in the tank right now and absolutely hate them. I wake up every morning with coral frags moves throughout the tank. One of them has been cruising around with a blue spotted mushroom on its back for about a month. Funny enough the mushroom is growing quite well

FJW and BB Fish & Pets are good options on this side of town

Things don't stick to these. Not that they couldn't move a loose frag.

Update. What I thought was GHA is looking more and more like Bryopsis. The algae is looking like a fern. I lied what I could out about a week ago and now it’s spreading. Any suggestions? I have caulerpa in my Refugium and everything I’ve read says it will kill it. I have a ton of pods and don’t want to kill the population if possible

I have GHA in my 13g and it's becoming a PIA. Weekly water changes while pulling it out, and more turbo snails, but no luck. I just started Vibrant last week. So hopefully that will work in 8 weeks, lol.
I heard Reef Flux is good for bryopsis though.

So far the Bryopsis is isolated to a few Zoa plugs and a GSP plug. Is there any issue with pulling the plugs, manually removing the bryopsis and dipping in hydrogen peroxide? Will it kill the coral?
